Photodynamic control of harmful algal blooms by an ultra-efficient and degradable AIEgen-based photosensitizer

چکیده
Harmful algal blooms (HABs) have a severe impact on human health, aquatic ecosystems, and the economy. There is still lack of effective means to control blooms. Herein, TVP-A, positively charged photosensitizer with aggregation-induced emission (AIE) characteristics introduced as super-efficient, cost-effective, eco-friendly agent for governance HABs. TVP-A efficiently harvests white light generate reactive oxygen species (ROS). Due its positive surface charge, has good water solubility quickly adsorbs onto cells floating water, triggering cell death through oxidative destruction nuclei chloroplasts algae. at low concentrations requires sunlight irradiation periods only few minutes destroy blooms, making it applicable large scale bloom under most weather conditions. Further, non-toxic fish, mice or mammalian cells. The slow self-degradation during photodynamic prevents environmental accumulation secondary pollution ecological systems. therefore serves an excellent candidate green

Models of Harmful Algal Blooms
Models used to study harmful algal blooms are a subset of those used to examine more general planktonic processes. Most models have been heuristic, examining the likelihood of certain processes generating a harmful algal bloom. Several models have been more closely coupled to field data and have been used to gain insights into the dynamics underlying the observations. As better physical and bio...

The five most commonly recognized Harmful Algal Bloom related illnesses include Ciguatera poisoning, Paralytic Shellfish poisoning, Neurotoxin Shellfish poisoning, Diarrheic Shellfish Poisoning and Amnesic Shellfish poisoning. Although they are each the product of different toxins, toxin assemblages or HAB precursors these clinical syndromes have much in common. Exposure occurs through the cons...

The world's oceans cover 70 % of the Earth's surface, and their dominant populations, both numerically and biomasswise, belong to microscopic protists and prokaryotes. The marine phytoplanktons are major components of both groups and are, by definition, high dispersal taxa with large population sizes. Small photosynthetic organisms are responsible for the bulk of primary production in oceanic a...

Now is a historic time in the field of harmful algal bloom (HAB) science. HAB problems are growing worldwide, and society's need for understanding these phenomena is more pressing than ever. Technological advances have expanded our capabilities for observing the ocean, providing unprecedented opportunities not only for the detection of blooms, but also for the physical, chemical, and biological...
